Bryce,

Could you please confirm that the NowMMSC does not support hiding the sender address disregarding the "X-Mms-Sender-Visibility" header
in the M-Send.req message.

I put this header to "Hide" in the M-Send.req message and, nevertheless, I get the sender address in the FROM header of the M-Retrieve.conf message.

I know that some of MMSCs support it only for trusted users/accounts disregarding this request from regular users.

One more relevant question. When the MMSC decides instead of disregarding the hiding request silently to response with "Error-permanent-address-hiding-not-supported" X-Mms-Response-Status

Thanks in advance.

Best regards, Eddy

Hi Eddy,

Well to be honest, we figured that this setting would never be supported on an operator network.

So we opted to ignore the setting, and wait for someone to ask about it. It took awhile.

(Also, MMS 1.1 didn't have a separate response status to indicate this specific error. In that protocol, the only option is to return a generic error. So our original thinking was that it was better to process the request without hiding the sender, rather than to return a generic error.)

This is an issue that we should probably revisit.
