Are you saying that your mobile operator only supports MMS over CSD? If so, then it is possible to configure NowSMS to send MMS messages over a GSM modem (GPRS not required in this case). But it is more difficult to do. Basically, what you need to do is configure a dial-up networking profile in Windows which calls the CSD access number for your mobile operator. Then, in NowSMS, you configure the MMS connection to use a specific network connection (note in paretheses it says "GPRS Modem", but the reason that it is in parens is because it is usually, but not always a GPRS modem). In the "Network Connection" field, do not select a "Modem:" entry directly. In this list, you will find the Windows dial-up networking connection that you created with a "Dial-up:" prefix in front of it ... select that entry. Then configure the other items as you would for a GPRS connection. You need to specify the IP address of a WAP gateway. It is a good idea to tell NowSMS which modem the dial-up connection is using (in case we do not detect this automatically from the profile). Note that the "GPRS APN" field will be grayed out as it is not relevant. "Login Name" and "Password" are the username and password that are used to connect to the CSD dial-up number. These should match whatever you used when you attempted a manual connection creating the Windows dial-up networking profile. (Note: There are two "Login Name" and "Password" fields on the form. The above description refers to the second instance. Leave the first instance field blank.) -bn |
