I have a Siemens MC35 External Modem connected using Nowsms 5.51a. The SIM card is GPRS enabled, and everytime i send to the Siemens an MMS, it receives a MMS Notification Url but it does not automatically initiate a GPRS session to retrieve the MMS itself. How do i enable the automatic retrieval once the modem receives the MMS Notification Url?

Have you configured the modem settings in NowSMS to retrieve MMS messages? Basically, you need to tell NowSMS what GPRS APN to use, the MMS Message Server URL, etc. See "Connecting to an Operator MMSC – Using a GPRS Modem" at the following link: http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/mms_notifications_and_c ontent/Connecting_to_operator_MMSC.htm

In order to use a modem for sending MMS over GPRS to an operator MMSC, you need to have a Windows modem driver installed for the modem. Wavecom doesn't have a Windows modem driver, but you can simply use any of the "Standard" modem drivers from Windows. "Standard 33600 bps Modem" usually works best for me. Go into the Windows "Control Panel", select "Phone & Modem Options", and then add a modem. Tell Windows that you will pick the modem from the list, and pick one of the "Standard" modem options. -bn |
