Has anyone succeeded in sending MMS through NowSMS Gateway? I can send SMS but keep getting RAS Error 777 when testing the connection on the MMS Outbound Routing Dialog Box.

Check out the following thread for someone that had a similar problem: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/6383.html It has some suggestions that I would also suggest that you try ...

I went thru' the thread but it doesn't seem to apply. I am able to connect using DUN (ie clicking on the DUN icon ). I can get the IP allocated (checked using ipconfig). I just can't send the MMS. The GM 29 is a bit odd in that it defaults to 9.6Kbps and it requires an AT command to set it up for higher speed. Would that be an issue with the Nowsms gateway? Should the gateway be set up for 9.6kbps? Is there any way to set it to switch over to a higher speed after the initial commands?

But if you're getting a RAS Error 777, this means that DUN is failing ... at least it is failing when NowSMS tries to programmatically initiate the DUN. Let's take a look at the Windows modem log like I detailed in that other thread. If you can manually connect via DUN, set up Windows to append to the log. Make a connection first using DUN, then a second attempt with NowSMS. Then let's look at that log, and see what's different. Usually with a 777 error, it means that Windows is not seeing a "CONNECT" response back after dialing out. This is why I suggested some manual tests using AT commands in the other thread. Speed could be an issue, but this should be handled by the modem driver. If regular dial-up networking can use the modem, then NowSMS should be able to programmatically trigger DUN to do the same thing. |
