im using Anite ACT and nowWAP When I execute testcase and Anite is sending MMS to phone this is what happens: Phone receives WAP push message GPRS goes active and phone is trying to download MMS Phone alarms for incoming MMS BUT there is nothing on the screen nor in inbox. So phone doesn’t receive the incoming MMS and there is no “1 new MMS” text on the screen, it just alarms and then nothing else. any help is welcome, thank you | |||

It sounds like your "Local Host Name or IP Address" on the "MMSC" page of the configuration dialog is set to the wrong value. The MMS notification that is sent over SMS contains a URL pointer that points back to the MMSC. When the phone makes its GPRS connection, it needs to be able to retrieve this URL. It sounds like the host name cannot be resolved, or there is some other problem with the configuration of the phone. Please see http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm for more info on how MMS works, to familiarise yourself with the issues. Since you're running in a closed environment, I would expect that you also have a local WAP gateway. The phone would most likely be connecting to the WAP proxy and issuing the URL request via the WAP proxy. So it is also possible that the phone is not properly configured to connect to the WAP proxy ... or the WAP proxy cannot connect to the URL for the MMSC. So I would also suggest checking the log files for the WAP proxy. -bn | |||

thanks for your answer Bryce This problem is now solved but i still have some troubles. when i execute testcases using Nokia 7650 phone, i have following problem. when i receive MMS from anite machine, i cant open the incoming MMS. phone say "Cant open the MMS, Select "objects" from menu" and when i select objects, i can see the contect of the MMS, pictures, text and sounds. why cant i open the MMS directly? also, Nokia 7650 is only phone that works. i have tried also Motorola A630, siemens c62, nokia 6600, Motorola E398, Siemes c65... with these phones i cant send/receive any MMS´s. i can receive wap push succesfully but after that nothing happens. any ideas for this? Could anyone name some phones that works with anite for sure so that i could try with those phones | |||

It's been a long time since I've worked with a Nokia 7650. I seem to recall this particular issue, but I can't remember the details of how to resolve it. I believe that it has to do with whether or not a SMIL file is included as one of the objects in the MMS message. Or, if you are currently including a SMIL file in the MMS message, but there is a formatting problem in the SMIL, then I think you might get this message. What is the content that you are sending? I've never used the Anite kit, so I'm not sure what the problem would be there. | |||
