Hi im trying out suggestions as mentioned in support answers to thread "Pulling MMS content fails" But: 1. Theres no "network: Sierra .. etc option in the MMS setting/network connection drop down. Only modem and dial up options! 2. If I select "Modem used" to none then the GPRS APN and login fields are not disabled. Clicking on Test connection fails What can I do? Regards Peter Meldgaard

If you disable/exit Watcher you tend to get the "Network" connection back. I'm hoping to continue the experiments from that thread sometime today as I've been busy for the past few days.

Sad but true, I did remove "Auto start up" and exited Watcher, removed card, waited 2 minutes, inserted card, LAN adapter for Sierra 750 goes aktive after > 15 secs, but no "network" option in MMS Settings! I did purchase the Sierra 750 as I understod by the docum. that it was a tested option. So someone from NowSMS must have had it working rigth? PM

Peter, I use one of these cards regularly, so I'm not sure what could be different in your configuration? With the card inserted, open up a command prompt, and issue the command IPCONFIG ... can you post the output from that command? (On my system, IPCONFIG reports that the Sierra card is an "Ethernet adapter".)

Peter, We've done some testing, and there is an issue with some alternate language versions of Windows, and the "Network:" drivers appearing in the drop-down list. I don't quite understand the technical reasons why, but we are working to produce a patch. -bn

Peter, I've uploaded an updated file to http://www.nowsms.com/download/mmswap.zip. It contains an updated version of mmswap.dll which should remove any language dependencies when interfacing to network card drivers (as opposed to modem drivers). I believe this will get you further. Apologies for the inconvenience! |
