hi, i have a domain lets say mms4ever.com i host that domain somewhere on the internet now i have a own domain, mycompanyname.com, with mx record setup, but no active mailserver yet ( no pop, no smtp ) is it possible to setup nowsms up to deliver multimedia messages as xxxxx@mms4ever.com while messages sent to xxxxx@mycompanyname.com are being processed by nowsms ?? this is because i will let forward *@mms4ever.com to *@mycompanyname.com however, i don't want ppl to see the mycompanyname.com | |||

Hi, I'm not sure that I understand. But if I understand correctly, you would probably need a mail server to forward from mms4ever.com to mycompany.com. Or ... actually, as I do a little more research, I see that there is an undocumented setting in the Now SMS/MMS Gateway that allows alternate domain names to be defined for the MMS domain name. If you edit MMSC.INI, under the [MMSC] section header, up to 10 alternate domain names can be defined like this: [MMSC] DomainNameAlias1=domaina.com DomainNameAlias2=domainb.com DomainNameAlias3=domainc.com DomainNameAlias4=domaind.com DomainNameAlias5=domaine.com DomainNameAlias6=domainf.com DomainNameAlias7=domaing.com DomainNameAlias8=domainh.com DomainNameAlias9=domaini.com DomainNameAlias10=domainj.com You just need to have the MX record for the domain pointing to NowSMS, or otherwise get the messages forwarded to NowSMS. -bn |
