I have been using NowSMS to successfully send MMS messages using a mobile phone MM1 interface to my operator's MMSC. We are looking to move our service beyond the prototype stage, intending to send bulk MMS. What is the best approach to sending large volumes of Multimedia messages? Companies such as MXTelecom provide an HTTP interface to their servers, which apparently have direct links into Operators' MMSCs but is this the most cost effective approach? Is there a more suitable connection (e.g. MM7?) and if so how would we go about obtaining one. Thanks Lee | |||

Hi Lee, Commercial availability of bulk MMS services is still an evolving work-in-progress. Personally, I'd be hesistant using any provider's interface that wasn't MM7 based ... because I wouldn't want to be locked into a particular provider. Generally speaking, unless your volumes are extremely high, you'd probably be better off trying to go through an aggregator like you describe ... as opposed to direct to the operator ... at least in the UK. -bn |
