Dear Support, i'm trying to setup the email to sms function in NOW SMS Gateway. but the server or service is not listening to port 25 this is also showing when i perform the following command netstat -a. this command shows all listening ports. please asist. with kind regards, Ron Hertsenberg | |||

Hi Ron, Am I correct to interpret this as indicating that the web interface port for NowSMS is also not listening? This is going to sound odd...but as this is a new install...do this... Uninstall Install again, but do not use the default installation directory. Instead, install into a short directory name such as c:\nowsms OR BETTER YET.... Download this interim release which fixes a bug in thstaller: https://www.nowsms.com/download/nowsms20180511.zip Do not uninstall, just run this install to update | |||

Hi, i tried the above. this doesn't solve my problem. i think the smtp mail server inside your software issn't working. is it possible we could schedule an appointment with a technichian to inspect my configuration ? with kind regards, | |||

Hi, I asked if the web interface was also not responding. Is it? I assume both services are shown as active on the service page of the NowSMS configuration program. Are there any errors shown there? Look at services under Administrative Services in Windows...are the 2 NowSMS services both shown as running? On the Serial # page, enable the debug logs. Restart services. Does MMSCDEBUG.LOG get created? If yes, what does it show? If no, then check running processes in Windows task manager...are both smsgws.exe and mmsc.exe active? | |||

Hi Ron, OK. This looks like the SMTP server its not enabled. I think I understand where the confusion is. There are 2 ways to configure the e-mail interface. The email quick start guide refers to them this way: https://www.nowsms.com/email-to-sms-mms-gateway-with-nowsms
Basically, the top setting on the following screen: "Function as SMTP mail server" must be checked to activate the SMTP listener. I notice that the MMSC configuration also has a setting for the SMTP port number, but I can confirm that value is ignored if the above setting is not checked. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||

Hmm...I see it is not a trial, but has a license. Is there any chance that you previously had NowSMS Lite installed, then installed the regular version over it? | |||

Now sms lite is still on the system.. when i kill the services in Now sms lite. The services in now sms gateway are also being stopped. So i think Those are connected to each other. Regards, | |||

That's the issue. In NowSMS Gateway, on the service page, UNcheck "run as a service" for each of the services two remove the services. Then check "run as a service" to reinstall the services. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||
