I need a 3G modem for receive and send SMS. I had tried to searched it, but I still couldn't find what I want. for information, I'm currently in japan, using vodafoe network (W-CDMA) | |||

I'm not sure if the Vodafone Connect Card (VC701SI) that Vodafone KK offers provides the necessary AT command support or not. According to the Vodafone web site, you cannot use SMS or MMS on any pricing plan for this card. So if you were to try it, you'd probably have to move a SIM from a phone into the card. But it is very possible that the card itself doesn't have SMS support. If NowSMS does recognise it, but you can't send any SMS, try changing the "SMS Access" setting between "GSM" and "GPRS". (For a 3G card, those settings actually mean "circuit switched" vs. "packet switched" ... and the operator might only support SMS over one or the other. | |||
