I simply want to receve and then send back out. Have tried:

http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/2_way_sms_support.htm
and
http://nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/mms_notifications_and_conte nt/MMSC_Messaging_Server.htm

As, I understand the other two urls, this is what I have done.

2-way tab
Command Prefix of "*"

Command of mailto:email@address.com

MMSC:

Activate MMSC Service
HTTP 80
SMTP 25
Authentication is checked
local hostname - anything.mydomain.com
domain name for MMS - email dummy.mydomain.com
smtp server. mail.mydomain.com

Then down to:
Enable email to sms support
domain name for SMS email - mydomain.
Max messages - 1

I put the username and authentication data in under sms users I have checked the mail logs on the smtp server - and it is trying to send as the return address the telephone number at the mail domain and not using the user data, so I have something simple wrong.

So what have I missed? I somehow have to link the user and the message.

Thanks in advance

would also be happy sending them back out via sms to another phone - but do not se how to do that via commandline http code.

I see:

http://server:port/path?sender=@@SENDER@@&message=@@FULLSMS@@.

but not how to resend that out back to a specific telephone number.

(Actually - would love to know BOTH ways to do this.)

Thanks.

I tried:

http://127.0.0.1:8800/?PhoneNumber=%2B12222222&Text=@@FULLSMS@@

but got FULLSMS as the message. Not what I was expecting.. So I have something wrong.

Hi,

Apologies for not being around to answer your questions.

However, I'm not sure that I understand them.

For your first posting, you say:

quote:

I put the username and authentication data in under sms users I have checked the mail logs on the smtp server - and it is trying to send as the return address the telephone number at the mail domain and not using the user data, so I have something simple wrong.

The user data would be in the text of the message. So I do not understand what it is that you expected.

In the third message, you say:

quote:

http://127.0.0.1:8800/?PhoneNumber=%2B12222222&Text=@@FULLSMS@@

but got FULLSMS as the message. Not what I was expecting.. So I have something wrong.

You mean that you got the text "FULLSMS" in the received message?

Did you configure this command as a "2-way" command, or are you executing it directly. It would only work properly as a 2-way command, otherwise "@@FULLSMS@@" would be out of context.

If you are indeed configuring it as a 2-way command, I can only assume that there is a typo.

I'd like to see an SMSDEBUG.LOG to understand. (The easiest way to enable the SMSDEBUG.LOG is via a checkbox setting on the "Serial #" page of the configuration dialog.)

1. The user data I mean is the username and password that is entered under SMS users, ie myemail@mydomain.com password.

2. Yes. That was entered as a 2-way command with and "*" in the first field (SM Command Prefix) Receive number blank and that line under comman to execute. The box was checked to execute a command returns. And yes, all I received is the word "FULLSMS" as the message
application/octet-streamsmsdebug.log
SMSDEBUG.LOG (8.1 k)
