bryce,

our nowsms server is located in usa, on the att network and we were trying to send ota provisioning msg to a mobile in italy. it failed on many attempts with this error msg:

any ideas what went wrong?

It's very possible that AT&T/Cingular doesn't support international binary SMS.

SMS interconnects in the US are just very limited.

I have used a T-Mobile US SIM to send binary SMS to UK phone numbers in the past (it was a few years ago, so I couldn't guarantee that it still works).

Here's one thing you might want to try ... edit SMSGW.INI, and under the [SMSGW] header, add BinaryDCS=4 ... then try again. In the log, you should see the DCS value change from F5 to 04. Sometimes, this value works better in North America.
