Hi Bryce/Malcolm,

I'd like to find out how incoming messages are processed because recently we've been having high traffic and those ".IN" messages are piling up in the SMS-IN directory. I assume that this is the staging area before it is passed to my handling program. Can you tell me what happens after the .IN files are created in SMS-IN directory?

When one of the files are passed to my handling program, does it wait for it to finish before passing another file or does it pass as many files and create multiple instances of my handling program to handle the files concurrently?

This is causing delayed processing of messages so I'd like to find out if there's anything I can do to speed up this process.

Thank you.
Mark

Also, I forgot to add. Whenever I have .SAR (multipart msgs) and .IN files (single files) in SMS-IN directory, seems like there is a priority for .IN files even if the .SAR files came first and all the parts came already and are in the same directory waiting to be processed.

Am I correct in this assumption? Also, if it is, shouldn't the logic of NOWSMS change to process the files that came first?

Thanks.
