Hi,
just quickly installed the SW from nowsms. I am using a Nokia D211 card (Also GSM modem). I am following the quick start guide and everything went fine (modem installation, testing, service starting etc).
When I try to send an sms I get the following error:
SMS could not be sne to +358xxxxxx, ERROR Modem response (2): +CMS ERROR: 301

Any idea ?

Cheers
Stefano

Stefano,

Is there a PIN configured for the modem?

Normally, I would expect a "CMS Error 311" if a PIN was required.

If the SIM in the modem requires a PIN, put the SIM into a phone temporarily so that you can remove the PIN.

Currently, NowSMS doesn't support a PIN, although based on user request we have added that support for the next release.

The "301" error is documented as meaning "SMS service of ME reserved". And to be honest, I don't understand what that would mean in this particular situation.

I'd check the PIN issue first.

Also try putting the SIM into a phone, and verify that it is able to send SMS ... just in case you have a GPRS-only account which is sometimes the case with SIMs that come on contracts with a GPRS modem.

Hi,
I managed to solve the problem. The D211 can work as WLAN card or GSM card. They can't work at the same time :-) So, I had to select the GSM profile and connect to the LAN via a cable.
Now it's working. Great job guys, we'll be in touch soon ;)

Stefano,

Thanks for the feedback. That sounds like something we should keep in mind when dealing with the D211.
