Someone contacted our tech support earlier this week asking if it was possible to send a message requesting a delivery receipt via the NowSMS web interface. Historically we haven't provided a web page setting, because the processing a delivery receipts is best left to a custom application. More detailed information on delivery receipt processing can be found in the following thread: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/24078.html#POST40255 But, it is easy enough to add a checkbox on the web template to allow a delivery receipt to be requested. The following ZIP file contains an update for HTML\Send Text Message.htm to add a delivery receipt option.
If the outbound SMSC interface supports delivery receipts, the receipt will be routed back as a new text message to the inbox of the account that submitted the message. More information on the format of the delivery receipt message can be found in the link that I referenced above. Note that the receipt will only be routed back to the user account that submitted the message if "Accept received messages for this user account" is enabled in the account settings for the SMS user account. -- Des NowSMS Support |
