Hello Support, I would like to use my smartphone as Android modem to send SMS via NowSMS. On the Android device the IP is public and it is dynamic (we are outside the local network). Is it possible to use the smartphone as Android modem outside the local network? Inside the NowSMS I can see that I can set a local IP. What do you think if I put a No-ip address for example in order to reach the smartphone when the dynamic IP will change? Will Nowsms server resolve this address? Thank you. Davide. | |||

Hi Davide, That will work. You can use an IP address or host name, optionally followed by :port. The default port being 8990. You can test communication with a web browser. Connect to host:8990/init and you should see an INIT OK response. Delivering received SMS back to NowSMS is a little more complicated. The app remembers where the last NowSMS request came from, and expects to connect back to the same IP on port 8990. -- Des NowSMS Support |
