Hi, I'm looking for some advise on which gsm modem to buy. All I need is to be able to send sms messages from a Windows machine (smtp -> sms to be exact). I tested nowsms in combination with a Nokia 6310i and that was working oke. But I don't want to connection my mobile phone to the computer. Which gsm modem works fine with nowsms? Is an usb modem better choice than a serial one? Brands? Models? Any advise welcome.... | |||

Here's a link to a thread with some modem info: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/4218.html USB is fine ... but personally I prefer direct serial link because I'm more comfortable in not having to deal with potentially flaky USB/serial emulation drivers. Multitech, Wavecom, Siemens MC35 Terminal, are all good choices. On the USB front, I see a lot of people using iTegno (which uses the Wavecom chipset, I believe). | |||
