Hi Dimitris,

What you are trying to do is very logical.

However, to the best of my knowledge, there is no standard for how you would define that you are including a link in the MMS message.

However, some MMS clients will automatically scan the text of an MMS message, looking for text that looks like a web site address, and automatically turn it into a link.

For example, I just tried this with a SonyEricsson K700i, and it did turn my text into a link that could be clicked on.

Unfortunately, you can't rely on this behaviour ...

Hi,Bryce

Can you give me the source code of the example you tried with a SonyEricsson K700i? I'm very interested in it also. My email is xianyun.zhou@gmail.com.Thank you in advance.

Best Regards

Zhou,

There's no source code involved.

I included http://somewebsite in the text of the MMS message, and the K700i automatically turned it into a link.

Hi,Bryce

Thank you for your reply quickly.I have another question. Can I hide the link, like the result of "<a href="somewebsite"> shopping </a>" in the html,so what displayed on the handset is "shopping",then I can click the "shopping" to transfer to the website,is it possible? Thank you in advance.

Best Regards
Zhou

Zhou,

I haven't seen any MMS clients that support HTML markup. It is logical that we might see some in the future, but the approach that I'm talking about here relies on the MMS client seeing "http://" in a "text/plain" part of the message, and turning it into a link.

I haven't seen anything more advanced (which is a pity).
