We're playing with Nokia 6220 and WAP2. And now when phone is connecting MMSC directly without WAP gateway how auto provisioning is supposed to work?
Because at least 6220 embeds MSISDN not in the headers but in HTTP POST body.

I assume that you are referring to auto-provisioning with the MMSC in the Now SMS/MMS Gateway?

If so, please post support related questions, in one of the support forums here. (We do not monitor the general discussion forums as frequently.)

Basically, the process is the same, but the phone needs to be going through an HTTP proxy instead of a WAP proxy. And the HTTP proxy needs to insert an appropriate header.

Keep in mind that it is not a good idea for the MMSC to just trust an MSISDN included in the HTTP POST body ... as this would be very easy to spoof. This is why the auto-provisioning only accepts MSISDN headers from a trusted list of IP addresses.

We have not yet issued any recommendations on HTTP proxies that can insert the necessary headers, but we will be issuing recommendations shortly.

In the meantime, manual provisioning can be used with such devices. Manually provision an account, and then configure the URL on the phone to use /username=password when connecting to the MMSC.
