Follow-up... This question was also sent into us via email, which made me give this question some additional thought. Now SMS/MMS does not create or update a log file with the name access.log. I would recommend investigating all other software running on that system. The Apache web server generates a log file with this name, so that could be what is generating it. NowSMS does not use Apache. However...as I think about this more, there is a possible connection between Apache and the NowSMS MMS platform. The customer can configure routing callbacks in the MMSC to control message routing. These callbacks are hosted on a separate web server. So, perhaps the customer has configured an Apache web server to implement these callbacks. If you Google the phrase “apache access.log too big”, you will see that very large log files are a common problem with Apache. Most of these search results are about Apache running on Unix, but I assume this is a WIndows server, so it may be prudent instead to Google “apache access.log too big Windows”. This following link seems to describe how to configure log file rotation for Apache on Windows: https://www.javabullets.com/apache-log-rotation-on-windows/ — Des NowSMS Support |
