MMS messages are delivered using a combination of SMS and internet technologies. When a mobile phone receives an MMS message, what it is actually receiving is an MMS notification message which it receives over SMS (WAP Push). This MMS notification message contains header information about the MMS message, and a URL pointer that the recipient must fetch in order to retrieve the content of the MMS message. It is not possible to decode the message without seeing the raw binary data of the message, But i can see “application/vnd.wap.mms-message which is the MIME type associated with an MMS notification, and the embedded URL contains the MMS message content, however it is likely that this URL can only be fetched using a device with an active data connection on the operator network. Our NowSMS product is able to send/receive MMS over a modem connection. Regards, Bryce Norwood NowSMS Support |
