Hi I would like to know What could be the maximum size of a MMS notification. Also what could be the maximum number of SMS segments that could make up for a MMS notification | ||||

I'm not aware of any defined limit. But if you look at the fields in the M-Notification.Ind message, you'll see that most fields are simple byte code values, except for X-Mms-Transaction-ID, From, Subject and X-Mms-Content-Location. Section 6.4.6 of the MMS Conformance Document specifies the following as maximum lengths for these fields: Transaction ID: 40 characters X-MMS-Content-Location: 100 characters Subject: 40 characters (Max subject length in M_Notification.ind) However, it does not specify a maximum length for the "From" field. Basically, when you take these size factors into consideration ... and impose a conservative limit on the "From" field of 100 bytes, an MMS notification message is unlikely to consume more than 3 SMS segments. If I were designing an implementation, I would be conservative even further, and allow for up to 5 segments ... but that is just my conservative nature. -bn | ||||

Hi Frank, Have u get it works to send MNotification.ind to Mobile using SMS(GSM Modem) through China Mobile Systems? or China Unicom. And any sample code, i tries on Nokia 6610, but always failed Regards | ||||

Yes, it works in CMCC(China Mobile), the enclosed is a MNotification.ind information, basically it is combined by two SMSs.
