Hello everyone, I’d like to ask some questions related to MMS transcoding, especially the logic that is generally applied. Let’s consider a simple one-slide MMS with image, text and sound: Now let’s suppose that we know the screen resolution of the handset (from UAProf) and the accepted image types; we can easily convert the file format to another, but what to do with the image size? Make it's horizontal size equal to screen’s horizontal size and resize keeping AR, so that the image would fully occupy at least the upper part of the screen during presentation? Is this the best that we can do? Also, how do we know if the handset supports SMIL? UAProf says nothing about SMIL support. Furthermore, I’ve noticed that some handsets will ignore the SMIL part if they encounter any errors or unsupported tags/attributes, and will show the MMS in parts. I really hope that someone will be able to provide information on this matter. | |||
