Hi,

We have serious problems with MMSC statistics. Our subscribers complain about MMS quality but MMSC statistics say that everything is fine. Do you have any experience to troubleshoot this type of performance problem?

Hi Andreas,

I guess your MMSC statistics are coming from its "in-box" KPI's which are not very relevant to pin-point the root-cause of your subscribers’ complaints. For example, your subscribers might have a provisioning issue with their mobile and in this case you won't see anything looking at your current MMSC statistics. What you need is actually more a software that would analyze the core-network traffic from many interfaces like Gn, Gi etc and give you a real-time view on the subscribers activity... I've heard of a tool that actually provide this sort of end-to-end analysis, it's called MMSMAX and it's developed by Theta Networks (www.thetanetworks.com). It's even capturing and analyzing data from the WAP server to the MMSC, and MM3, MM4 and MM7 interface. Their tool will give you detailed reports for every subscriber though a database that you will be able to query.
Well, I hope it will help you to solve this kind of annoying issues.

What is the actual problem when you say mms quality it mean that the resizing of image or audio or video is not proper if that is the case, and if the complaint is not more then there is problem in uaprof parameters in database for that particular msisdn. Can you plese tell me in detais for the problem so that i can tell you some solution

Hi Andreas,

Can you provide more detail about the perceived problem?

Is it a delivery speed issue? Errors being reported to subscribers?
