HI, I have some assumptions regarding the content-transfer encoding for MMS and have listed below. 1. content-transfer encoding will be done if there are any restrictions on how the data is being transfered over the n/w. For eg: base64 encoding used for email clients due to the restrictions of SMTP protocol. 2. When a MMS as an email with attachments sent to a MMS Client, MMSC will perform the content-transfer decoding for all components which are encoded and forms an MMS pdu which will be sent to the MMS client. This means MMS Client need not have a content decoder like a base64 decoder, b'coz its already been done by MMSC. Let me know if my assumption is right. Thanx Murali | |||

Murali, That's right, an MMS client does not need to deal with Base64 or quoted printable encoding. Everything gets sent to the client in its binary form. -bn |
