Folks, What does this entry actually do in MMS settings on the terminal? Is it where MMS file will be stored on the MMSC? And which parameter in settings actually points to MMSC itself? As I understand it, the MMSC of the provider will receive the MMS file, store it for the user and send him a WAP Push as a notification. Once the end user terminal receives this WAP Push, it will go to MMS URL location and retrieve a file indicated in WAP Push notification. Am I correct here with the sequence of events? | |||

This is the URL to which MMS transactions are posted. When your phone sends an MMS message, it posts the MMS message content to this URL. (The same URL is always used for posting, the MMSC will generate URLs dynamically for the resulting messages that are generated.) When your phone receives an MMS notification, it retrieves the MMS content from the URL that is included in the MMS notification (yes, the MMS notification is encapsulated inside of a WAP push). After the phone retrieves this URL, it does post an acknowledgement back to the MMS URL that is configured in the phone. -bn |
