Hi,

I want to know, whether we receive .mms file to mobile client or parsed (header + attachments)? If we receive .mms where it will be stored and how we can access it?

Regards,
Venkat

Hi Venkat,

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by the question?

Are you talking about writing your own client software to receive an MMS message ... or are you talking about using NowSMS to receive an MMS?

With NowSMS, if you enable Receive SMS messages and Receive MMS messages on the "2-way" page of the configuration dialog ... then it receives MMS messages into the MMS-IN directory. A header file is stored directly in the MMS-IN directory, with pointers to individual content pieces of the MMS message referenced in a subdirectory (same format as would be passed to MMSCOMP).

Note, however, that:

1.) In order to receive MMS messages with NowSMS, you must be using a dedicated GSM modem, or if you are using a GSM phone it must be a phone that does not support either WAP push or MMS (this is because if the phone supports WAP push or MMS, it will intercept the MMS notification, and not forward it via the modem interface to NowSMS).

2.) With many operator WAP gateways, the URL that contains the MMS message content is inaccessible behind a firewall, and NowSMS is unable to retrieve the MMS message content. (We'll have a solution to get around this problem in the v5.0 release of NowSMS which will be going to beta in a couple of weeks.)
