Hi Ask a question all of you mentioned that MMS notification included a URL to point to a mms file at server. can we key in URL to mobile and access mms directly? i try this and failed but don't know is due to the incorrect mms file or others. anybody can give ideals | |||

No, you cannot. The MMS notification URL needs to point to an MMS message with the content type "m-retrieve-conf". Even if the phone's browser recognises the MMS MIME type, and forwards the download to the MMS client ... this "m-retrieve-conf" will be unexpected, because it is out of sequence with the normal MMS transaction sequence. An MMS transaction sequence starts with the MMS client receiving an "m-notification-ind" message. That causes the MMS client issue a WSP/HTTP GET to retrieve the URL within the MMS notification, which it expects to contain an "m-retrieve-conf" message. Generally speaking, MMS clients won't accept an "m-retrieve-conf" that they did not explicitly request. -bn |
