Hi, I have accounts on all four networks. I understand that Orange is a problem from other earlier postings. However I'm also strugling to send MMS to my T-Mobile handset. What am I doing wrong? Also, could you explain how/whether the new release will get round the Orange problem? Thanks Jon | |||

Jon, To be honest, I do not know what the settings are that are pre-programmed on a T-Mobile (UK) phone for MMS. Can you compare the settings configured for MMS vs. those configured for the WAP browser? The new release of Now SMS/MMS will get around the Orange problem (or problems of other closed operators), but only in a way that is more expensive for actually sending MMS messages. You'll have the ability to send MMS messages through the operator MMSC over a GPRS modem (charged at the same cost as if you sent the message from the phone itself) ... or through an IP-based account with an operator (MM7/MM4/MM1/EAIF) ... in addition to the current solution. (Orange says that they are launching support for IP-based accounts in 3Q, I haven't heard about the others, but with inter-networking between the operators, an account with one should get to the others.) -bn |
