Can anyone help me. I am based in Singapore. I have tried to send an MMS to various moible subsuscribers from different mobile operators. But seems like some of the subscribers cannot received the MMS Message. I am using NowMMS to send the MMS Message. The message is stored within the PC Server itself.
Any help will be greatly appreicated!

This could be a configuration error on your end ... or it could be a configuration issue with the default MMS settings for the mobile operator(s) to which you are sending.

I'd suggest starting with the advice in the following thread:

Hi Bryce,

Thanks for you help. But I have tried already tried your suggestions before. But, still it doesn't work.

The Wap URL is pointing to Port 80, but still, in Singapore, only specific telco subscribers can only received. (I meant that only subscribers from one particular telco can received the MMS; other subscribers from other telcos cannot received the message.

Have tried to changed the mobile phone setting to what the URL have suggested, am not able to connect via GPRS thereafter.

If there any other work around solution?

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Renato

It could be that the mobile network operators are only permitting access to their own WAP gateway when connecting via their GPRS APN.

If the WAP gateway is rejecting the MMS file - then you need to raise the issue with the network as it could be a case of the network updating its WAP gateway.

Hi Renato,

Unfortunately, when the mobile operator is blocking access, there is little that you can do.

When this is the case, generally what the operator has done is setup a separate GPRS APN just for MMS traffic. The MMS settings on the mobile phone are configured to access this special APN, and a different WAP gateway from the one that is used for the WAP browser. This WAP gateway only allows access to the operator MMSC.

You can usually reconfigure the MMS client on the phone to use the normal WAP browser settings (APN and WAP gateway IP) for the MMS client ... and that will allow the phone to access an external MMSC. But it could allow the phone to lose access to the operator's MMSC.

If you can't reconfigure the phone settings, the only alternatives are to use alternatives to MMS (like our multimedia WAP push feature which sends content to the WAP browser with WAP push) ... or in our upcoming v5.0 release, we will have the ability to send MMS messages via a GPRS/GSM modem through the operator MMSC directly (this approach usually costs more than the direct delivery model in current versions of NowSMS).

A beta release of v5.0 is expected to be posted to this web site early next week.
