Hi, Please can anyone tell me how to setup NowSMS for the user to be able to send an email to an MMS phone. I have normal mms phone to mms phone and mms phone to email working, but would really email to mms to work! Please can someone tell what I need to do. I have read through this and other forums on here for the answer/help, but couldn't find what I was looking for. Many thanks, Nathan | |||

Hi Nathan, Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We've been overwhelmed with demand related to the release of our v5.0 beta product (http://www.nowsms.com/beta5), and we haven't kept a close eye on this particular forum in the message board, as this forum was intended for MMS technical issues that were not specifically related to the Now SMS/MMS Gateway product. If you've got phone-to-phone and phone-to-email working, then e-mail-to-phone should mostly be an issue of DNS and/or external mail server configuration. The MMSC in the Now SMS/MMS Gateway contains a simple embedded SMTP server. This server listens for SMTP connections to receive messages. So issues of setting it up are similar to those of setting up an SMTP mail server. Either you need to have another mail server that accepts mail for a domain name associated with the MMSC, and relays it to the IP address of the MMSC ... Or you need to configure DNS for the domain (or subdomain) name that you want to use to receive mail on the MMSC, so that there is an MX record for that domain that points the IP address of the MMSC. (Actually an MX record always points to an A record, and the A record points to the IP address of the MMSC.) -bn | |||

Via a general service, I'm not aware of anything at the moment. (It is possible with some US carriers.) | |||
