I am sorry that I am not familiar with MMS message. Could somebody kindly help me solve the following doubts..
1. Is it possible to send MMS from PC to Nokia phone via IRDA port ?
2. If yes, how to do that ? What AT commands are required ?

1.) To the phone itself, or through that phone to another phone?

There may be a way to transfer the MMS message to the phone itself via IRDA, but when that is possible, the approach varies from phone to phone. I'd suggest asking in a discussion forum at www.forum.nokia.com, mentioning the specific model that you have.

To send through that phone over an IRDA connection to another phone, yes, that is possible ... if you can install the phone as an IRDA modem.

2.) The AT commands are the same as for SMS, because you'd actually be sending an SMS. MMS is more involved than SMS.

See this thread for a description of how MMS works:

http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/12/196.html

Basically, an MMS notification is sent to the recipient phone over SMS, and that notification has only the headers of the MMS message, and a URL pointer to download the rest of the message from a content server.

If you take a look at our Now SMS/MMS Gateway product, which you can download a trial version of from this web site ... this is one of the things that the gateway allows you to do.

One problem that you can run into, however, is that some operators effectively block external MMSCs from sending to their subscribers. In that type of situation, the only way to send an MMS is to actually send the message through the operator MMSC. If you want to do that through a phone, you have to do that over GPRS. The v5.0 release of the Now SMS/MMS Gateway, which is currently in beta, adds this functionality (details and download at http://www.nowsms.com/beta5).

Some mobile operators allow you to send an MMS message to a mobile phone by sending an e-mail to phonenumber@some.domain.provided.by.the.operator.

But most don't ... in which case you're out of luck.
