Hi, Just curious, since some operators will block external MMSCs from sending to their subscribers, what is the other way(s) to receive MMS? Can we send the actual MMS content (m_retrieve_conf) in binary form of concatenated sms through wap push without sending MMS notification to the mobile? | |||

I wish that could be done. The problem with the protocol is that it is a push/pull model. The phone won't except an m-retrieve-conf message unless it is actually asking for it (has received the m-notification-ind). (It is always possible that some phones might accept an m-retrieve-conf message. I didn't have any luck with this a few months ago.) I have managed to feed an m-notification-ind message in on some phones by linking to an m-notification-ind application/vnd.wap.mms-message file from the WAP browser ... but even when you can do that, this only wakes up the MMS client to try to fetch the MMS content (m-retrieve-conf message) over the settings configured for the MMS client ... so it doesn't buy you much. |
