Hi,

I can't give you a clear answer because it is not clear what you are trying to accomplish.

Without trying to sound to philosophical, is an MMS message still an MMS message if it is never sent to anyone?

Well ... the issue is that different MMS interfaces use different protocols and message formats (MM1, MM4 and MM7 being the main protocols with associated formats).

So technically, an MMS message is an abstract construct, a collection of headers and content objects.

This abstract construct is translated into a particular format depending on the protocol being used, and the direction of the message flow.

The MM1 protocol (also known as MMS Encapsulation) is the actual over the air (phone-to MMSC-to phone) protocol.

There are different PDU formats in that protocol depending upon whether the message is being sent or received.

In most cases, getting the message content into an MMS file format is not relevant.

If you want to experiment with MM1 MMS file formats, the MMSCOMP utility in NowSMS can do this. It is described here:

http://www.nowsms.com/doc/advanced-configuration-settings/creating-mms-message-f iles

I can't emphasize enough, however, that for most situations, actually packing your content up into an MMS file format is not relevant.
