Hi Team,

Using NowSMS i have sent the mms which is delivered successfully as per the logs. But nothing received on handset. We have tested on multiple numbers but the result is same.

Attach both SMSDEBUG and MMSCDEBUG logs.

Hi,

My first suggestion would be to use an Android device as a modem for sending/receiving MMS. An Android device offers far better performance (because the MMS APN can remain active, saving 5 or more seconds each message), and gets around issues where some mobile operators do not provision MMS support for dedicated modem devices.

The only advantage of a USB or serial GSM modem is the ability to send binary SMS or special SMS attributes like replacement type.

With that said, let's look at why this is not working.

What I see is that the response when posting to the MMSC indicates a generic OK, but is not a standard MMSC response. Unfortunately the debug log does not show the detail. NowSMS should log this as an error, but it is not. My guess is that either the MMS settings are wrong, or the SIM in the modem is not provisioned for MMS support.

Looking first at the settings, I can see that our default settings for Starhub are incorrect, the MMS Proxy/WAP Gateway should be http://10.12.1.80:80 (not :8080). Try changing that.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, temporarily put the SIM in an actual phone and verify that it can send MMS. If that works, put the SIM back in the modem and try again.

Hi We cant use mobile phone as the server is placed in the datacenter.

Anyways we are testing the same and let you know shortly.

You say this was working last Friday?

And nothing else changed?

It sounds like an account issue with the SIM.

Temporarily put the SIM in an actual phone and verify that it can send MMS. If that works, put the SIM back in the modem and try again.

Hi

As mentioned earlier We cant use mobile phone as the server is placed in the datacenter.

Also the sms is going through. Please suggest some other option to identify the problem.

In logs we are getting OK status while sending the mms. Please let us know how can we verify whether it successfully submitted to the operator.

Thanks

Hi,

I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying.

Although the log says OK, the debug log does not see a valid response when sending the MMS. The nature of the failure cannot be determined, but the problem is most likely an account issue with the SIM in the modem. (Especially, if it was working last week and stopped working with no other changes.)

You need to test the SIM.

Temporarily put the SIM in an actual phone and verify that it can send MMS.

I am expecting it to fail when you put the SIM in a phone, which would point to the problem being an account issue with the mobile operator.
