I have been trying to determine whether all GPRS providers require the APN to be programmed into the mobile device. I came across an entry on this forum from Bryce Norwood dated Dec. 31, 2004 (10:47 p.m.) in which he stated: "I've seen a few providers in Scandanavia where their published WAP settings leave the APN blank, because they are just using the default." I assume that he is referring to a default APN specified in the HLR (or in the SGSN). I was wondering if anyone is aware of the names of any of those Scandanavian providers (or any other providers that have implementations with a blank APN in the mobile) so that I could find out how these implementations are done.
