Hi all, I lately started exploring/developing wap applications but I'm stuck here. I can write a small .wml page and use a phone browser simulator to view it on my system (where I have installed and use Apache 2.0.63 as web server configured to deliver wap content to mobile clients). However, I want to access these .wml pages from a wap-enabled phone through bluetooth connection between my phone and my laptop. Is it possible? How do I go about this? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm not aware of any other solution than making your web server accessible over the internet, and accessing it that way. While there's nothing to technically prevent a phone manufacturer from implementing support to connect over Bluetooth ... I would not expect any phone to support this. (A lot of development work to implement on the phone software side, and no compelling usage case to justify it.) -- Des NowSMS Support

Hi, Its true cos all I had tried failed. Now, I came to discover that Bluetooth provides the Personal Area Network (PAN) profile that if implemented by both devices (i.e. pc and phone) could make that communication possible. Unfortunately, my phone bluetooth implementation only provides for Serial Port Profile (SPP) and Dial-up Network (DUN) profile. Whenever I get such scenario, I'll try it out and share my experiences here. Thanks Des for ur contribution. |
