Is GPRS modem a stuff that can send/receive MMS message from computer as GSM modem do in case of SMS. If anyone tried sending/receiving MMS from such modem please give me input of such supported modem. It would be help even if i get some technical inputs. A GPRS modem is a GSM modem that also supports GPRS. Over a GPRS modem connection, you could write MMS client software that sends an MMS message through an operator MMSC. Receiving is trickier, because the MMS notification message comes in over the SMS channel, whereas the content is fetched over GPRS. -bn | |||

Hi, There's not really such a thing as an "MMS modem". Many people use "GSM modems" to send/receive SMS. MMS uses a combination of SMS technology, along with WAP over GPRS ... so "GSM/GPRS modems" can allow software to send/receive MMS messages. (Actually in some cases, you can send MMS with only a "GSM modem", bypassing the operator MMSC.) Yes, you need a SIM card for a GSM/GPRS modem. These modems can be external (connected to PC via serial port or USB port ... or even by bluetooth or infrared), or they can be PC cards. Sierra Wireless Aircard 750 is an example of a PC card GSM/GPRS modem. The Siemens MC35 is an example of an external GSM/GPRS modem. -bn | |||

what modem cooperate with reive MMS (tested withnow.sms) but have Sony Ericson GM29 modem GPRS and not get any information of receive MMS (notification_ind). what seting will be send to modem that modem cooperate with receive MMS. | |||
