Hi, When trying to send a Wap Push SI to a Nokia 3650, nothing happens at all in the phone. The same test works fine with Sony Ericsson T300 and Nokia 7210. Sending a normal text message to the Nokia 3650 works fine as well. What's the trick with Nokia 3650 and wap push? Cheers, /Henrik | |||

1) I downloaded and installed NowSms version 4.20 on my Win XP machine. 2) I added an HTTP SMSC to Now Sms, using URL templates to connect it to my SMS provider. 3) I opened the NowSms web interface and used "Send Text Message" to test the SMSC connection. Successfully sent text message to Nokia 3650, Nokia 7210, and SonyEricsson T300. 4) I used "Send WAP Push Message" to send an SI push message to the SonyEricsson T300. I filled in phone number, WAP URL, and Text. Worked fine, the T300 received the SMS and when I opened the SMS it connected to the WAP URL. 5) Sent the same WAP Push message to my Nokia 7210. Worked fine. 6) Sent the same WAP Push message to my Nokia 3650, nothing happened in the phone. No sound, no SMS, nothing. I can repeat the test any number of times. I'm using the same Vodafone subscription for all three phones (i.e. moving the SIM card between the phones for each test). I've also tried with other phone numbers and it's always the same - 7210 and T300 work, 3650 doesn't. I seem to remember reading somewhere that some of the newer Nokia phones are picky about Wap Push messages, maybe they have more specific requirements for what should be included in the message? | |||

Hi Henrik, I use a Nokia 3650 as one of my primary phones, and I've never had a problem with NowSMS sending WAP push to the 3650. (There was a problem with the initial implementation of multimedia WAP push, where some WAP gateways would return an error when opening up the push content because we did not include an "alt" attribute with the "img" tag.) However, this said, the problem may be with your SMS service provider. We have two different mobile operator customers of NowSMS who have encountered problems sending WAP push messages to the Nokia 3650 and 7650. In both cases, the problem didn't appear to be with NowSMS, it appeared to be a problem with the SMSC through which the message was being sent, which was having a handshaking problem sending the message to the phone. Routing the messages through a different SMSC always solved the problem. If you want to leave your SIM in the 3650, send me an e-mail (to nowsms@now.co.uk) with your mobile phone number, then I will send you a WAP push through our NowSMS server to show you that it can be done. -bn | |||

Maybe not relavant. Just downloaded and install NowSMS v5. Connected Nokia 6310i with data cable to my laptop. When add modem, 'Now' says that the phone does not handle SMS. Is this normal? What phone should I use? CCD | |||

I have a nokia 3315 and im with telstra and at like 7 in the morning today i got a message sent to my phone from WAPPUSH i went into it to see what it said but all it said was "message cannot be displayed here" i have no idea what it means or where it come from or anything so now im looking it up on different websites to firslty find out what it means, can anybody here help? hi someone plaese help? i have bought a nokia 3650 data cable and have connected it to my nokia 3650 but when i connect my phone to the pc i get:- on phone:- insert sim card, when sim card is inserted? and my phone does not seem to be found on my comp? is there anyone else who has had this problem? someone please help as this is stressing me out!! cheers steve | |||
