Hi , I am a newbie to WAP and I had a question. What would be the encoding to be used if a push proxy gateway was to send PAP push messages to the SMSC via SMPP? Assuming the the gateway does not support WAP, is it enough to send push messages like the SI and the SL with WBXML encoding? Would the SMSC be able to parse the message and deliver it as an SI/SL to the mobile phone? Thank you, Prashanth | |||

To be more specific, should the WSP and the WDP headers be added to the WBXML encoded SI/SL body? Or is it enough to perform the SMPP binary encoding and send the message to the SMSC. Thanks | |||

Thanks Bryce. So, not to be repeating myself, but is there no way that a PAP push message can be sent to an SMSC without the WAP encoding specifications? | |||

Correct. And you do not use PAP. PAP is a protocol used for talking to a Push Proxy Gateway (PPG). Neither PPG nor PAP are required for sending a WAP Push. -bn | |||
