Hello all, Was was discussing the MMS file formats and WAP with an engineer and here are some of the questions presented to me. Perhaps someone can help. a) What is the basic compression method that holds together and combines the multiple media elements/files within the MMS file? From my readings of the OMA's "MMS Encapsulation Protocol" document it appears that it is gzip. Is this correct? b) With this in mind, are there any detailed specification documents available that detail, via functional step-by-step examples, about what precisely occurs during the creation and playback of an MMS file? That is on the playback side what software routines or applications within the phone decompresses and extracts the media files within an MMS file? Is this gzip also? c) When an MMS file is transmitted, I've read that WAP also binary encodes the MMS file, in essence compressing the file yet again. Is this correct? I have been looking for the OMA's WAP specification document (but can't find it) as well as any documentation that could detail how this binary encoding process works. Could someone point us in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Greg Edwards Developer

MMS Encapulation is sub-protocol of WSP.You can learn WSP for the first. I have made a MMS decoder(MMS解码器). You can download it and MMS samples from www.simpleteam.com
