Hi I'm trying to send WAP2 OMA settings to a Samsung E720. The settings come through correctly, and install and work fine, but they do not activate. Even if the phone has been completely reset, with no other settings, I still have to go into Browser/Wap Profile and manually select the (only) settings before they work. I've tried sending as XML and through the web form, with the same result both times Can anyone help? Thanks | |||

if you go into the wap profile settings and then press activate the phone should save the settings - however if this does not work then check your MMS settings are correct or go into Settings and select connection settings and then chack you have the right settings for hte network there. failing that i give up I am linked to vodafone contract on a sim free ohone and have never had any problems switching between Vodafone and Virgin - just have to change the settings! do you have to activate through your service provider before it all works? | |||

sorry, i think you're mis-understanding. On older (pre-e720) samsungs, when we sent a new setting to the handset it was automatically enabled if the phone was empty. on the e720 onwards you have to manually select and activate the settings, even if they are the only settings in the phone. which sucks,especially for our customers, most of whom are not phone-savvy | |||

i had the same problems as the majority of uz. the internet didnt work on my e720! but instead of tryin to get the settings from the o2 website i went to www.samsungmobile.com!!! if ur not a member it is easy to become one. once u have completed the relative application screens, u come to ur home page as such. from here u can click "send settings to your phone" in top right hand corner of the screen! just take it from there and enjoy! I went to the samsung website and registered however the settings still dont work for my E720  does anyone know what i should do as i bought the fone as a contract phone but i use a pay as you go sim in it?! which settings do people think i should use!? many thanks Little Star :D | |||

Hi I downloaded all my contacts out of Outlook into the phone but whenever it rings it comes up 'anonymous' and the people ringing me are in the phone. im going nuts with my e720. i love it, its my 1st venture outside the nokia range but i cannot send pictures from it. i can use the internet and i can recieve pictures. o2 suggested i wiped the sim card with a soft cloth!!!!! and then rang them back ( premium rate tut) any advice please??????? my settings are all correct, ive checked em on samsung and o2 web sites. xxxx | |||

Replying to the above. I did this and changed my settings however did not know how. Until i fiddled around with my phone and realised what i did. To get rid of the display message go to>> MESSAGES>BROACAST MESSAGES>RECIEVE...and change it to off rather than on. And the NEW CB(200) will disappear. I hope this has been helpful han!!! This may sound really stupid, but I cant seem to get my E720 onto Quiet Mode! The book says to go to the Sound Settings menu, select Quiet Mode and then Mute to stop the phone from ringing or making any sounds. Well, my phone still rings as normal when I select Mute! Help! What the hell am I doing wrong! Its got to be something really stupid that I'm not doing but its really bugging me! If anyone can help, that would be great! | |||

I have just bought an E720 and am pleased with it except that the WAP settings refuse to work. I spent over an hour in Carphone Warehouse and nearly 2 hours on and off the phon to data support and still nothing. They tried other handsets and they didn't work eitherso they offered me a refund. I decided to keep the phone as I only use WAP occasionally but wondered if anyone had any ideas? Also this now means that I can't download ringtones so does anyone know where I could download ringtones from, to my computer? thanks | |||

Hi! 3 times now, my samsung d500 has frozen, usually around 2pm?! I switch off my phone, then switch it back on. I can hear the music when switching on, but the screen is blank, and it's taking longer for it to re establish itself between 2 & 24hrs!...very annoying!
