Hi,

We are testing NowSMS (evaluation version) with our local GSM operator which we need to implement two-way MMS. I need to clarify if NowSMS gateway can process MMS messages thru MM7 VASP (incoming) without a user and password values?

Our GSM operator only gives us the following parameters:

VASPID 8xxxx
VASID 6xxx
Service Code 9999

Is this possible? Appreciating your response.

Hi,

Yes. In your "MMSC Routing" definition, you can leave the username and password fields blank. This is very common.

To receive MMS messages via MM7, your provider has to initiate a connection to you (this is the way MM7 works). You need to define an MM7 account for them under "MMSC VASP" to allow them to connect to your system. Go ahead and define a username and password. The URL that you supply them will have this username and password in the URL, like this: http://yourserver:mmscport/mm7/account=password

It is not technically possible to receive MMS messages over an MM7 connection until you supply the operator with a URL for them to connect back to your system.

Hi Des,

Thanks from your reply, so it means the following parameters which are provided by them are not usable.

VASPID 8xxxx
VASID 6xxx
Service Code 9999

Note: Our GSM operator provided those parameters for both MO and MT MMS connections.

Hi,

NowSMS will use those parameters when initiating a connection to the provider.

When receiving a connection from the provider, these settings will be ignored.
