You are trying to setup an HTTP connection to what service?

It sounds like the username or password is not correct for that service.

What service are you attempting to connect to? You do have an account with the service, right?

I have an account with optimum online. It doesn't have a user name and password on the account, at least I don't think it does.

Any other ideas??

Thanks

Ok, I have visited the optimum online web site, but I do not see where they offer an SMS service.

SMS does not work like the internet, you cannot just send an SMS through the internet for free. (There are some web sites that offer free SMS service, but that is a different story. Those sites are subsidised by advertising, as it costs the site operators money to send the SMS messages on your behalf. Those sites will not allow you to connect automated sending programs like NowSMS to their free service as you will not see their ads, and their advertisers will not pay them for your access.)

In order to send an SMS over the internet, you need to have an account with an SMS service provider, that is why I am asking you what you have configured in NowSMS. It sounds like you are not trying to connect to an actual SMS service provider.

I apologise for any confusion.

The Now SMS/MMS Gateway is a software product.

We do not provide an SMS service.

That's why the following text is bolded on our download page:

Please note that a connection to an SMS service provider, or a GSM modem is required to send
messages using this software.

With a link to: System Requirements

I am sorry for any confusion, but NowSMS requires a connection to an SMS service provider, or a connected GSM modem, in order to send any messages.
