Hi,

I've noticed that we have some MMS to E-mail rejected messages. A deeper inspection revealed that the other party is rejecting the mail because our host name is not a fully qualified domain name.
The MMSDEBUG.log shows that our MMSC spits HELO mm.
mm is the local host name we gave to our MMSC so the WAP push SMS is shortened to a single one and our subscribers use http://mm as the URL.
However the domain name for MMS to E-mail is indeed an FQDN but the MMSC is not using it for the HELO SMTP operation.

Hi Sharbat,

Unfortunately at this time, the "local host name" field is used for SMTP host name, MMS WAP Push URL, and within MMS message IDs when routing externally.

There is no way to separate these uses.

It's a good idea for a future update, but it is not possible to separate them with any configuration settings in current releases.

Hi Des,

Thank you for your response.
Unfortunately, the domain name for MMS to E-mail remains only to mark the from field as far as I can see. The domain name should be a nice addition in the next release.
