Hi Des, Am testing with the latest version. Got an issue with MM wap push SenderID. There is no sender parameter defined when the mms is sent as MM wap push. Have checked the logs and have vefied that. Whereas if i use convert to SMS option and UseMMSSender=Yes parameter is used while defining the connection and the senderID gets properly logged in the logs and the mobile number of the mms sender gets displayed properly on the handset. Is it possible to use UseMMSSender=Yes kind of parameter with MM wap push? Kindly let me know. Thanks Sam | |||

Hi Sam, There is no configuration option for this. Such an option would be less useful for a WAP push message because the UI on the receiving phone generally does not support a reply option to the sender of a WAP Push. Additionally, many Nokia phones do not display the SMS sender of the WAP Push at all (instead displaying the WAPPushInitiatorURI). In fact, my recollection of most phone user interfaces is that you are presented with a pop-up notification for the WAP Push, but you are generally not presented with the SMS sender address in this notification. That's our reasoning behind not having such a configuration option ... We just leave the SMS sender address of the WAP Push as being whatever the "Default Sender Address" is that is configured for the SMSC connection through which the push is routed. When the MMSC converts to an SMS for message delivery, the SMS sender address becomes more of a usability issue. Setting it to the address of the MMS sender allows the recipient to see who the message is from. It also allows the user to reply to the SMS and have the reply get routed to the MMS sender. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||
