Hi, I have been trying to send MMSs using Now SMS / MMS Gateway for a while now but I can't get it to work. I thought'd i'd give it a try over here. Location: Oman Provider: Nawras MMS type they use (according to customer service): MM1 I've been using the default settings and I've messed around to them but nothing seems to work. My setup currently looks like this (+ Error message): http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/4394/errornq.png The settings for Nawras can be found here: http://www.nawras.om/mobile_handset_configuration_nokia1.shtml If anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it! Thanks alot!

Hi Thomas, Try putting this in the WAP Gateway IP Address Field: http://10.128.240.19:8080 (Put it in with the "http://" prefix. This tells NowSMS to use a WAP2 proxy interface.) The other settings appear correct: APN : mms.nawras.com.om MMSC Server Address : http://10.128.240.16/servlets/mms I would suggest UNchecking "Allow Sender Address Override", as having that setting checked can cause problems on some systems. -bn

I just double checked the link that you included in your message. It says you can use a WAP Gateway (WAP/WSP) IP Address of: 10.128.240.19 That should also work. -bn

Hi bn, Thanks for those quick replies! I have tried putting http://10.128.240.19:8080 and 10.128.240.19 In the WAP Gateway IP Address field but still returns the same error: http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7938/error2um.png http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/7981/error3tp.png Any idea what else could be wrong? Thanks a lot, your help is appreciated.

My best guess is that there is a problem occurring trying to set the APN, and the APN is not getting set to the MMS APN. If this is a mobile phone being used as a modem, there may be an APN set for tethering in the phone's configuration menus, which cannot be overridden by NowSMS sending AT commands. Check the phone configuration menus for any tethering related settings. It also may be necessary to add an extra init command in the modem setup to set this APN. See the following thread for details of how to do this: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/23307.html -bn

Thanks BN! Got it working, yes I was using a mobile phone as modem for testing purposes. I have bought a modem and it now works perfectly fine! Thanks, great customer service! |
