Please clarify this issue for our side according that we're confusing whether Nowsms can sent out MMS simultaneously with two modem difference simcard? What we found is difference answer,Could you clarify with is correct and how to configure it? 1. Right now, our MMS sending is limited to one device at a time. And yes, I know this is a big limitation. We do currently support simultaneous SMS send and receive on multiple modems, but the MMS sending is single threaded.(http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/2821.html) 2. If you have multiple modems installed, all messages are sent via only one of the modems, unless you define prefix mappings to route different phone number prefixes to different modems.(http://www.nowsms.com/multiple-modems-for-sending-outbound-mms) Please noted that main purpose is how to increased/improved throughput and performed. To be inform you that we're using Nowsms V2008.06.03

Hi szk, The link referenced in #1 is from 2004. I believe it refers to v4.x of the product. The limitation in question has long since been removed (it was before my time here). Regarding #2, I did just post some additional configuration clarification here: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/69728.html This said, if you are using multiple modems for sending MMS, there are some technical considerations for maximum performance. For simultaneous transmission via multiple modems, using WAP/WSP gateways generally offer better performance than WAP2/HTTP gateways. (All of our preconfigured operator settings use the WAP/WSP gateway addresses, but there are a variety of threads here that discuss some operators that work better using WAP2/HTTP. When connecting to the same operator with multiple modems using WAP2/HTTP, there may be more blocking.) If possible, using modems with SIM cards from different operators will have the best throughput. -- Des NowSMS Support

Hi Des, Can you explain more detail about using different telco(operator) will have the best throughput. Regards, Zak

Hi Zak, It is complicated to explain, but basically it is an IP routing issue. If there are multiple data connections active to the same operator, extra care must be taken to ensure that MMS data gets routed over the correct data connection. If the connections are to different operators, extra coordination is not required (unless more than one operator uses the same IP address for their WAP gateway). -- Des NowSMS Support |
