Dear : Mr Bryce

I got 2 parameter setting from my GSM operator which for use 2 connection in one IP Address .
So i create one SMPP connection with username AAA password BBB port 11111 point to SMSC IP addr 123.123.123.123 access code 8899
then i also create the 2nd parameter with username DDD password EEE port 11111 point to SMSC IP addr 123.123.123.123 access code 8877
Some how everytime i create the 2nd SMPP connection and apply it , i always find out that both SMPP Connection get the SAME CONFIGURATION , the configuration CHANGE BY IT SELF , copy exactly the setting of the last SMPP Connection i Set up.The 1st setting i set change by it self copy exactly the 2nd setting i just input.
Please help me to solve this problem, very urgent . Tks

Best Regards
Iwan

Hi Iwan,

If both connections are to the exact same IP address and port number, then you can have a problem like this. However, there is a VERY simple work-around that I'll describe here.

In the WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC directory, you'll find a file named HOSTS.

Edit this file, and add the following entries:

123.123.123.123 smpp1.smsc
123.123.123.123 smpp2.smsc

In NowSMS, rather than configuring the IP address of the SMSC, specify the phony host name that was added to the HOSTS file. So SMSC definition #1 would point to "smpp1.smsc", and SMSC definition #2 would point to "smpp2.smsc". The HOSTS file would resolve both to the same IP address.

Hi Mr Bryce

I just try out,but the SMPP Connection on SMSNow application still copy it self to the last setting.
Any way to rename it SMPP1 and SMPP2 you suggest ?
I already edit the Host file according your advices and i already save it.
But how to create the SMPP1 and SMPP2 in the SMSnow SMSC connection setting ?
Please help

Glad to hear the problem is sorted. It is a little confusing to have to do this, but it is a workable solution.
