My situation:

I have a nokia 3595 and i recently downloaded a database of 40,000 logos/ringtones and now i just need to send the ones i want to my phone. att is my provider. nowsms seems like the best FREE solution (besides the charge per data by att) so i just need to send a mms from my PC to my phone. this program is rather complex although i learn this stuff really fast i was wondering if someone could walk me through the process of figuring everything out.

Thanks, Colby

To clarify things i guess i would like to be my own server and send MMS messages to my phone. I am still unclear as to which type of smsc connection i should use and to what would go in the fields. Pretty much i'm clueless as to how this works but i do know a lot about computers so i should understand a thorough explanation. Thanks

Hi Colby,

NowSMS usually isn't a great solution for getting content to your own phone, because it is so complex. (It is more geared toward developing SMS and MMS based services.)

The piece that you're missing is the SMSC connection. You either need a subscription to a service provider, or a data cable that would allow your phone to be used as a GSM modem. I found a data cable for a Nokia 3595 at the following site:

There are also some references there to some software that might be a better fit for just uploading ring tones to your own phone.

NowSMS might be a fit if you want to send SMS or MMS messages through that phone to other phones.
